Little Seahorse is Alexander Schaefer’s third year undergraduate film at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and tells the story of an aging woman who must confront her memory loss for the first time.
Sandra watched the mother she knew slowly disappear to the heartbreaking effects of Alzheimer’s disease.
So when she begins to experience the early signs of memory loss herself, Sandra denies it. Her brother protects her because he is afraid to lose her; her nephew is the only person who can really understand her. But for Sandra to face what is her present reality, she must first give up the memories of who she was in the past.
